How origin health works by platform
Open in appWhat CPU, RAM, disk, and load mean — and which stores can send them.
- 1Connect the store (Integrations). Magento, WooCommerce, Shopify, and BigCommerce each get an HTTP uptime monitor for the store URL automatically.
- 2On WooCommerce or Magento, keep the module current (Woo 1.5.1+, Magento 1.3.0+) so each ~5-minute sync includes a self-check.
- 3Open Store Health, Home, or Uptime. Origin gauges fill from that sample. Shopify / BigCommerce show a hosted-platform note instead of empty charts.
- 4Set warn and crit lines (CPU/RAM/disk are advisory; load × cores and stalled pages/DB are the down lines) under Settings → Origin health.
- 5Optional: Settings → Origin health → synthetic browser if you want a real-browser load through Cloudflare.
Origin self-check is measured on the store’s own PHP process: a small database query, a representative catalog lookup (render), CPU and memory percentages, disk used on the Magento/WordPress volume, 1-minute load vs core count, and a public page fetch for origin 5xx/524. The same ladder classifies WooCommerce and Magento.
Warn opens a “slowing down” advisory while the store stays up. CPU, RAM, and disk crossing the crit line stay in that advisory tier — a short plugin CPU sample is not an outage. Down is only stalled DB/render, origin 5xx/524, or load above your down factor. A visitor heartbeat never clears those incidents — only a later healthy self-check does.
Shopify and BigCommerce are hosted. There is no origin box for us to read. Inventing CPU from their Admin APIs would be misleading, so Store Health, Home, and Uptime explain the gap. Storefront coverage is still the HTTP probe, PageSpeed, optional synthetic browser, and webhook/order data.
Adobe Commerce Cloud can use the Magento extension against the Magento sync endpoint (same self-check) or the Adobe Commerce ingest path. Connecting either path still creates the HTTP monitor.
